As it turned out, prior to iOS 4.2 it was not technically possible to take a full res photo during live filter camera preview due to bugs in the Camera API. So we didn't know when or if we would be able to continue working on Lenses 2.0 and had to do something else in the meantime.
We came up with this app called WordFoto that turns pics into words.
WordFoto will be available in App Store soon so keep your eyes open.
Anyway, we're excited to continue working on Lenses 2.0 now, again!
wow this is just amazing ! I really enjoyed lenses 1 and now the second version is on its way. But hey I can not find the wordfoto yet in appstore and this post was awhile ago so am i missing something?

@carL: Well, “soon” turned out to be quite a long time … When we first got the word placing algorithm working we thought it would be possible to make WordFoto a very simple and small app that did almost everything except selecting words automatically. But as we couldn’t get it to produce automatic results that looked good enough for a majority of all our test photos, we decided to make it a more full fledged app with more user control and expressability through carefully selected parameters. So we’re working on both apps in parallel now, but WordFoto will be out, if I dare say so, soon (expect more than two weeks from now).
